Leave Me Alone

Leave Me Alone Video | Bad Album | Videos from bad Album
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leave Me Alone was the eighth single to be released from Michael Jackson's 1987 album Bad. It only appeared on the CD versions of the album and was not issued as a single in the United States. The song was also featured as a segment in Jackson's 1988 fantasy movie Moonwalker. The song was re-released on April 17, 2006 as part of the Visionary: The Video Singles set. It charted at #15 in the UK and #68 in Australia.

The music video for "Leave Me Alone"won the Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video at the Grammy Awards of 1990. The video was also featured in Moonwalker. In essence, the video is a surreal collage of stylistically crude images based around Jackson's successful career since 1982's Thriller. Consistent with the song's lyrical content, there is an emphasis on the tabloid view of Jackson's personal life and public image, referring to the nickname "Wacko Jacko" given to him by the press, and the various headlines associated with him in the 1980s. Controversially acknowledging the rumors that he had attempted to purchase the bones of the "Elephant Man", Jackson dances with stop motion "Elephant Man" bones in the video. This particular segment (without the image of the bones) was used for the single's cover art.

Lyrics

As he came into the window
It was the sound of a crescendo
He came into her apartment
He left the bloodstains on the carpet
She ran underneath the table
He could see she was unable
So she ran into the bedroom
She was struck down, it was her doom

Annie are you ok
So, annie are you ok
Are you ok, annie
Annie are you ok
So, annie are you ok
Are you ok, annie
Annie are you ok
So, annie are you ok
Are you ok, annie
Annie are you ok
So, annie are you ok, are you ok, annie

(annie are you ok)
(will you tell us that youre ok)
(theres a sign in the window)
(that he struck you-a crescendo annie)
(he came into your apartment)
(he left the bloodstains on the carpet)
(then you ran into the bedroom)
(you were struck down)
(it was your doom)

Annie are you ok
So, annie are you ok
Are you ok annie
Annie are you ok
So, annie are you ok
Are you ok annie
Annie are you ok
So, annie are you ok
Are you ok annie
Youve been hit by
Youve been hit by-
A smooth criminal

So they came into the outway
It was sunday-what a black day
Mouth to mouth resus-citation
Sounding heartbeats-intimidations

Annie are you ok
So, annie are you ok
Are you ok annie
Annie are you ok
So, annie are you ok
Are you ok annie
Annie are you ok
So, annie are you ok
Are you ok annie
Annie are you ok
So, annie are you ok
Are you ok annie

(annie are you ok)
(will you tell us that youre ok)
(theres a sign in the window)
(that he struck you-a crescendo annie)
(he came into your apartment)
(he left the bloodstains on the carpet)
(then you ran into the bedroom)
(you were struck down)
(it was your doom)

(annie are you ok)
(so, annie are you ok)
(are you ok annie)
(youve been hit by)
(youve been struck by-
A smooth criminal)

Okay, I want everybody
To clear the area right now!

Aaow!
(annie are you ok)
I dont know!
(will you tell us, that youre ok)
I dont know!
(theres a sign in the window)
I dont know!
(that he struck you-a crescendo annie)
I dont know!
(he came into your apartment)
I dont know!
(left bloodstains on the carpet)
I dont know why baby!
(then you ran into the bedroom)
I dont know!
(you were struck down)
(it was your doom-annie!)
(annie are you ok)
Dad gone it-baby!
(will you tell us, that youre ok)
Dad gone it-baby!

I Just Can't Stop Loving You.

Bad Album | Videos from Bad Album
------------------------------------------------
"I Just Can't Stop Loving You" is a popular ballad by singers Michael Jackson and Siedah Garrett. Written and composed by Jackson, it was originally intended to be a duet between Jackson and his woman of choice: either Barbra Streisand or Whitney Houston. Even Aretha Franklin was offered the song, but all three refused. However, songwriter and Quincy Jones protege Garrett, who had written Jackson's memorable "Man in the Mirror", volunteered to sing with Jackson thus giving Garrett her first hit since Dennis Edwards' 1984 hit, "Don't Look Any Further". Garrett is quoted in The Billboard Book of Number One Hits by Fred Bronson that she was unaware she would be singing the song - although she had received a tape of it - until the day of the recording session, when Jones told her to step up to the microphone and sing it with Jackson. The song became the first of five number-one Billboard Hot 100 singles from Jackson's Bad album. It also reached number one on the R&B and Adult Contemporary charts, Jackson's second number-one song on the AC chart (his first, coincidentally, had also been a duet: 1982's "The Girl Is Mine" with Paul McCartney).

Originally, the album version featured a spoken intro backed with a longer version of the opening music. This intro was mixed out on future releases of the album.

Lyrics

I just want to lay next to you for awhile
You look so beautiful tonight
Your eyes are so lovely
Your mouth is so sweet
A lot of people misunderstand me
Thats because they dont
Know me at all
I just want to touch you
And hold you
I need you
God I need you
I love you so much

[michael]
Each time the wind blows
I hear your voice so
I call your name . . .
Whispers at morning
Our love is dawning
Heavens glad you came . . .

You know how I feel
This thing cant go wrong
Im so proud to say I love you
Your loves got me high
I long to get by
This time is forever
Love is the answer

[siedah]
I hear your voice now
You are my choice now
The love you bring
Heavens in my heart
At your call
I hear harps,
And angels sing

You know how I feel
This thing cant go wrong
I cant live my life
Without you

[michael]
I just cant hold on

[siedah]
I feel we belong

[michael]
My life aint worth living
If I cant be with you

[both]
I just cant stop loving you
I just cant stop loving you
And if I stop . . .
Then tell me just what
Will I do

[siedah]
cause I just cant stop loving you

[michael]
At night when the
Stars shine
I pray in you Ill find
A love so true . . .

[siedah]
When morning awakes me
Will you come and take me
Ill wait for you

[michael]
You know how I feel
I wont stop until
I hear your voice saying I do

[siedah]
I do
This thing cant go wrong

[michael]
This feelings so strong

[siedah]
Well, my life aint
Worth living

[both]
If I cant be with you
I just cant stop loving you
I just cant stop loving you
And if I stop . . .
Then tell me, just what will I do

[michael]
I just cant stop loving you

[siedah]
We can change all the world tomorrow

[michael]
We can sing songs of
Yesterday

[siedah]
I can say, hey . . .farewell to sorrow

[michael]
This is my life and i,

[both]
Want to see you for always
I just cant stop loving you

[siedah]
No, baby

[michael]
Oh!

[both]
I just cant stop loving you

[siedah]
If I cant stop!

[both]
And if I stop . . .

[siedah]
No

[michael]
Oh! oh! oh . . .oh . . .

[siedah]
What will I do? uh . . .ooh . . .
(then tell me, just what will I do)

[both]
I just cant stop loving you

[michael]
Hee! hee! hee! know I do
Girl!

[both]
I just cant stop loving you

[michael]
You know I do
And if I stop . . .

[both]
Then tell me, just what will I do

[both]
I just cant stop loving you

(Say we're just good friends)

[Stevie]
Baby loves me

Liberian girl . . .
You came and you changed
My world
A love so brand new

And he says so endlessly . . .
I love you, liberian girl

(naku penda piya-naku taka
Piya-mpenziwe)

And he says so endlessly
I love you, liberian girl
(naku penda piya-naku taka
Piya-mpenziwe)
(I love you too-i want you
Too-my love)

Liberian girl
You know that you came
And you changed my world,
I wait for the day,
When you have to say
I do,
And Ill smile and say it too,
And forever well be true
I love you, liberian girl,
All the time

Bad (Song)

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bad Video | Videos from Bad

----------------------------------------------------------------------
"Bad" was a 1987 hit recording by pop singer Michael Jackson. The song which has become one of his signature songs, was the second of five Billboard Hot 100 number-one hit singles from the album Bad, and was his seventh number one single overall.

The song was originally intended as a duet with longtime rival Prince. Years later, Quincy Jones, in an interview included in the Special Edition of "Bad", told a different story when he said that Prince told Jackson and him that he hadn't wanted to participate because "it would be a hit without (him)".

The video for the song was directed by Martin Scorsese and featured an appearance by an emerging Wesley Snipes. In 2006, the single, as well as the video, was re-released as part of the Visionary - The Video Singles package.

Lyrics

Your Butt Is Mine
Gonna Take You Right
Just Show Your Face
In Broad Daylight
I'm Telling You
On How I Feel
Gonna Hurt Your Mind
Don't Shoot To Kill
Come On, Come On,
Lay It On Me All Right...

I'm Giving You
On Count Of Three
To Show Your Stuff
Or Let It Be . . .
I'm Telling You
Just Watch Your Mouth
I Know Your Game
What You're About

Well They Say The Sky's
The Limit
And To Me That's Really True
But My Friend You Have
Seen Nothing
Just Wait 'Til I Get Through . . .

Because I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
Come On
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
You Know It
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
Come On, You Know
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
And The Whole World Has To
Answer Right Now
Just To Tell You Once Again,
Who's Bad . . .

The Word Is Out
You're Doin' Wrong
Gonna Lock You Up
Before Too Long,
Your Lyin' Eyes
Gonna Take You Right
So Listen Up
Don't Make A Fight,
Your Talk Is Cheap
You're Not A Man
You're Throwin' Stones
To Hide Your Hands

But They Say The Sky's
The Limit
And To Me That's Really True
And My Friends You Have
Seen Nothin'
Just Wait 'Til I Get Through . . .

Because I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
Come On
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
You Know It
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
You Know It, You Know
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
And The Whole World Has To
Answer Right Now
(And The Whole World Has To
Answer Right Now)
Just To Tell You Once Again,
(Just To Tell You Once Again)
Who's Bad . . .

We Can Change The World
Tomorrow
This Could Be A Better Place
If You Don't Like What I'm
Sayin'
Then Won't You Slap My
Face . . .

Because I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
Come On
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
You Know It
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-

Man In The Mirror

Man In The Mirror Video | Bad Album | Videos from Bad Album
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Man in the Mirror" was a number-one hit for Michael Jackson when released as a single in the spring of 1988. It is one of Jackson's most critically acclaimed songs and it was nominated for Record of the Year at the Grammy Awards. The song garnered massive airplay and topped the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks.

Man In The Mirror was released in February 88 and was the forth worldwide release from Bad. In the UK it stalled at #21 which was Michael's poorest chart placing since Girlfriend in 1980. Why this single failed is subject to debate among fans as it is regarded to be one of Michael finest ever tracks. Later songs in the same kind of theme (Heal the World & Earth Song) were huge hits - so why not Man In The Mirror ?. One of the reasons could have being that lack of a proper video, poor airplay and the fact that the song offered very little new material on it's released formats. Bad had also sold a huge amount in the UK by this time - so perhaps many fan's could not see the point in buying the single - and it did not get enough exposure to tempt other record buyers. One suspects however that if the track was released later (during/after the Bad tour & Moonwalker) then the song would have done better. This would be because the song could then have had a live video - and more people would have heard and grown to like it.

The USA was a different story and it was a record-breaking fourth consecutive #1. The song got plenty or airplay and sold well like the previous Bad singles. The meant that Bad was one of the most successful albums for singles ever in the USA with four #1's so far. It remained in the pop chart for an excellent 17 weeks and also hit #1 in the R&B chart.

Song Information

The midtempo track is well known for its dramatic flourishes and Jackson's passionate delivery of its poignant lyrics. The song's lyrics were composed by songwriters Glen Ballard, Siedah Garrett (who can be heard singing in the background with Jackson) and Michael Jackson. Jackson added background vocals from Garrett, the Winans and the Andrae Crouch Choir, which gave the song its distinctive sound and greatly contributed to its popularity. It is rumoured that Jackson and Garrett wrote the lyrics to the song in one night.

The song popularized the use of Gospel choirs in pop songs during this era which can be heard on popular tracks by such as artists as Debbie Gibson, Mariah Carey, and on Madonna's 1989 number one hit "Like a Prayer". As a matter of fact,Siedah Garett was one of the backing vocals for Madonna's Re-Invention Tour of 2004 and perfomed a short solo during "Like a Prayer".It remains one of Jackson's most popular songs.

Jackson has performed a live, extended version of the song at the 1988 Grammy Awards. He also performed the song as the endings of his concert at his Bad World Tour's second leg, and regularly at his Dangerous World Tour. In the latter, the song was ensued by Jackson flying out of the arena in a jetpack. At July 16, 1995, Jackson also performed Man In The Mirror in the Royal concert brunei.

This song has been included in most of Jackson's numerous compilation albums but for some reason it was omitted from the recent "Visionary: The Video Singles" box set.

The song was quoted by Jermaine Jackson during Celebrity Big Brother 2007, while confronting several white housemates who had been racially bullying an East Indian housemate named Shilpa Shetty.

The song is sampled by Brooklyn MC Papoose during the summer of 2006 on his "Gonna Make A Change." The song decribes his rough upbringing and his struggles.

Lyrics

I'm Gonna Make A Change,
For Once In My Life
It's Gonna Feel Real Good,
Gonna Make A Difference
Gonna Make It Right . . .

As I, Turn Up The Collar On My
Favourite Winter Coat
This Wind Is Blowin' My Mind
I See The Kids In The Street,
With Not Enough To Eat
Who Am I, To Be Blind?
Pretending Not To See
Their Needs
A Summer's Disregard,
A Broken Bottle Top
And A One Man's Soul
They Follow Each Other On
The Wind Ya' Know
'Cause They Got Nowhere
To Go
That's Why I Want You To
Know

I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change
(Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change)
(Na Na Na, Na Na Na, Na Na,
Na Nah)

I've Been A Victim Of A Selfish
Kind Of Love
It's Time That I Realize
That There Are Some With No
Home, Not A Nickel To Loan
Could It Be Really Me,
Pretending That They're Not
Alone?

A Willow Deeply Scarred,
Somebody's Broken Heart
And A Washed-Out Dream
(Washed-Out Dream)
They Follow The Pattern Of
The Wind, Ya' See
Cause They Got No Place
To Be
That's Why I'm Starting With
Me
(Starting With Me!)

I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
(Ooh!)
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
(Ooh!)
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make A Change
(Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make A Change)

I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
(Ooh!)
I'm Asking Him To Change His
Ways
(Change His Ways-Ooh!)
And No Message Could've
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make That . . .
(Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make That . . .)
Change!

I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror,
(Man In The Mirror-Oh
Yeah!)
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
(Better Change!)
No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
(Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make The Change)
(You Gotta Get It Right, While
You Got The Time)
('Cause When You Close Your
Heart)
You Can't Close Your . . .Your
Mind!
(Then You Close Your . . .
Mind!)
That Man, That Man, That
Man, That Man
With That Man In The Mirror
(Man In The Mirror, Oh Yeah!)
That Man, That Man, That Man
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
(Better Change!)
You Know . . .That Man
No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The

Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make A Change
(Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make A Change)
Hoo! Hoo! Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!
Na Na Na, Na Na Na, Na Na,
Na Nah
(Oh Yeah!)
Gonna Feel Real Good Now!
Yeah Yeah! Yeah Yeah!
Yeah Yeah!
Na Na Na, Na Na Na, Na Na,
Na Nah
(Ooooh . . .)
Oh No, No No . . .
I'm Gonna Make A Change
It's Gonna Feel Real Good!
Come On!
(Change . . .)
Just Lift Yourself
You Know
You've Got To Stop It.
Yourself!
(Yeah!-Make That Change!)
I've Got To Make That Change,
Today!
Hoo!
(Man In The Mirror)
You Got To
You Got To Not Let Yourself . . .
Brother . . .
Hoo!
(Yeah!-Make That Change!)
You Know-I've Got To Get
That Man, That Man . . .
(Man In The Mirror)
You've Got To
You've Got To Move! Come
On! Come On!
You Got To . . .
Stand Up! Stand Up!
Stand Up!
(Yeah-Make That Change)
Stand Up And Lift
Yourself, Now!
(Man In The Mirror)
Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!
Aaow!

Gonna Make That Change . . .
Come On!

You Know It!
You Know It!
You Know It!
You Know . . .
(Change . . .)
Make That Change.

The Way You Make Me Feel

"The Way You Make Me Feel" is a song written by Michael Jackson and recorded for his ninth album Bad (1987). Produced by Jackson and Quincy Jones, it is about how one special woman makes the author feel inside and the fact that his "lonely days are gone". It was released as the album's third single in 1987 (see 1987 in music) became another number-one hit from the album on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. It was performed a few times on Jackson's tours and was most famously performed live at the 1988 Grammy Awards.

High heels on
You give me fever
Like Ive never, ever known
Youre just a product of
Loveliness
I like the groove of
Your walk,
Your talk, your dress
I feel your fever
From miles around
Ill pick you up in my car and well paint the town
Just kiss me baby
And tell me twice
That youre the one for me

The way you make me feel
(the way you make me feel)
You really turn me on
(you really turn me on)
You knock me off of my feet
(you knock me off of

In ecstasy

Just promise baby, youll
Love me forevermore
